Had one of these on my Dodge Magnum for 6 years and would have lasted longer except for that cement wall at church. I bought the car in CT so it did not have the required front plate for MA.

The Mopar Front bracket was this massive thing that fit the bumper contour. I wanted something much more simple. This fit the bill and allowed me to position the bolts exactly where I wanted them. The 4 small holes are to mount the plate.

The various recessed slots all over the bracket will match up with any bolt configuration you have or that you want to create. Works great and gave me room to wash and dry behind the plate instead of being a dirt collector like the Mopar. So glad to find a replacement on Amazon. I've had this product installed on my 2013 Camaro for 6 months now. It's just what I expected. I've had no problems with it whatsoever.

It's such an awesome and cheaper alternative to the 'electronic' version, which I now realize isn't even necessary. People love this on my car. It's easy for me to just conceal my front plate when I want to take pictures or wash the vehicle. It's gone through many hand washes and time on the highway, still sturdy.

No complaints. (i had this installed by the people at the dealership at which I purchased my car). My car came without a front plate holder and I refused to pay the dealer to have one installed. California requires a front plate so it was either pay or find an alternative.

In my town, I have seen the front plates wired to the front grill in order to meet law without having to drill into the car. While pricey, this option allowed me to install a plate without adding holes to the car. The plate holder is attached to the tow hook hole on the passenger side of the front of the car with a special bolt.

The bolt attached to the tow hook bar, then the plate holder is attached to the bolt. Finally the plate bracket and plate attach to the plate holder.

Bmw Front License Plate Installation

By adjusting the plate holder, you can shift the height and horizontal placement of the plate by a few inches. When putting this.

After much thought, I have found the best solution: I asked Tesla not to install the front license plate license plate holder at the factory/delivery. At delivery time, they handed the license front plate holder to me. Miba spezial 93 pdf. Now this part is key, so pay close attention. What I did next is I opened the trunk. In the trunk, there is a sort of pocket near the driver side rear wheel.

There isn't one on the passenger side. It's only on the driver's side. That's a key detail right there. Unless they gave it to you in your hand, then there the storage case for the charging cable and adapters is probably in there. Now, this is the most key detail, HEAVY emphasis on the key. What I did is I took the license plate holder and placed it between the charging cable storage bag and the wall of the trunk. Then, I never thought about it ever again.

I am probably going to make a detailed step-by-step video guide which I'll post to YouTube as I know it will help out many others. Here is my simple front license plate mounting solution: 1- Drill 2 sets of holes on the upper corners of the plastic license plate holder for the zip ties to go through; one set of holes on each upper corner.

2- Zip tie the plastic plate to the front grill, one on each upper corner 3- Put a couple of layers of packing tape or foam tape on the aluminum trim that the plastic plate is resting on to protect it from getting scratched I mounted the plastic plate upside down compared to the factory way of mounting it. You can easily & quickly install or remove the plate this way. NOTE: I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL INTERFERE WITH THE HEAT EXCHANGER BEHIND GRILL.

Bmw Front License Plate Mount No Holes

MAY BE SOMEBODY FROM TESLA CAN COMMENT ON THIS. I drove a BMW for 3 years without a front plate. Was never enforced until I was pulled over for speeding on the 101. Then was told to get it mounted. I don't think they (CHP) have the resources to be pulling everyone over for the lack of a front plate BUT will enforce if you give them another reason. I am taking my chances with the MS. Will use brackets and no holes.

If they do tell you to have the plate mounted then you will have to take the car to a CHP office to show in a given period of time. @ivanbracic, yes, there are several of us in Hawaii that use the Show-N-Go. It looks nice and is not as obtrusive as the nosecone mounted or even the lower grill mounting method. There is at least one thing you need to consider. You must be more attentive when you pull into a place where you can hit it against the curb or something like that.

Because it will break off or you will bend its metal mount. I've broken two, but I still use it. It gives you reason to be careful of the front. Still best solution currently available.

@DCPOWRD, The Show-N-Go comes with blind fastners aka rubber barrel nuts. You simply get under the front with a 90 degree drill and 5/16' bit. You align the metal bracket so it provides point of contact for each of the three blind fastners. Be aware of your rear hole positioning so you don't drill up into the radiator.

Its not really as seeing it as describing it. You naturally move the metal bracket forward enough so when the hinge flips up it stands at 90 degrees. When you do this, you have already moved the metal bracket forward enought to clear any risky drill hole. Then push the three blind fastners in, and hold the bracket in place as you screw the three small screws in. Fifteen minutes tops and you are done. The hardest part is; from the top of the splitter as NASCAR would call it, is finding the center across the front so the tag is centered.

I drove a Corvette for ten years without a front plate. Never a problem for me. At this stage in my life I'll probably just have them put it on at the factory though. I don't think it detracts from the looks that much.

It looks like it belongs there. Anyone know how much a new nose cone costs? Side note: I'd be very careful attaching them with Double Faced Tape. My guess is, if you ever try to remove it, you will take the paint right off with it. Which to me is worse than a couple of holes in the nose cone. Earlier I was touting 'Show-N-Go' as the answer.

I never did install it and have since then sold it: There are just too many parking bumpers and high curbs out there that scrape the plastic front underside of the S and would have ripped it off. I had a P85+ loaner yesterday with parking sensors and that was no better at finding the distance between the front of the car and the parking bumper and a high curb; it had air suspension as well but I didn't want to stop in the parking stall and engage it.

My solution that someone else mentioned is from Amazon: for $11.47, order the 'Cruiser Accessories 78410 suction cups'. They come in a 4-pack, you only need 2, and just stash them pre-installed into the upper holes of your front plate in the trunk until you need them, generally from others are saying for use while parking in metropolitan city streets or in parking garages. I used the j-boltg method. BUT, I put my license plate off center to the left (facing front of vehicle) to avoid the radar sensor that's in the center. Drill a hole 3 1/4' down from the top; of the license plate, the diameter of the j bolts about a half inch in from each side. That'll guide you where to put the j bolts. The bolts need to be abou t 2 3/4' long but I had to buy 3 1/2' ones and after I had teh plate mounted on the car with the nugts that came with the bolts (and washers), I cut them off with a hacesaw.

I removed the nuts and replaced them with aircraft nuts, that won't vibrate loose. Also, I put foam tape on the back of the plate where it rested on the trim. Looks beautiful. To be honest, I don't know why people worry so much about drilling holes in the front bumper. In CA, we are required by law to mount both plates.

I assume it's the same case in most states. Like you, I was also looking at all no-drill options initially. I had a door handle problem and scheduled a Tesla technician to come by and fix it at my garage, while I was away on a business trip. My wife, after the tech fixed the door handles, requested him to help mount the 'just-arrived' plates. The tech drilled holes and mounted it in the front.

When I returned home, my wife proudly announced that she also got the plates fixed! I was disappointed initially that she didn't check with me on it; but hey.what the heck, it's a goddamn license plate.

Once mounted, we're going to forget about it. No big deal really! I want to be street legal and it's not worth getting pulled over and getting ticketed for not having a stupid plate in the front! It's also not worth spending money on 'robotic arms' 'hide under the hood' and 'no-drill' mount, etc. My two cents.
